For the past five years, a group of moms and youth volunteers in Regent Park, Moss Park, St. James Town, and across Toronto Centre have run the Good Education for a Bright Future program entirely voluntarily. We have supported over 500 students, provided mentorship and jobs to over 200 youth tutors, and helped parents guide their children toward academic success.
When students come straight from school, many are hungry and exhausted. Our program gives them a safe place to learn, grow, and regain energy with snacks, guidance, and support. We also provide youth tutors with meaningful work, mentorship opportunities, and life skills that set them up for success.
But the program has grown so much that it is no longer sustainable without help.
We need funding to:
- Provide snacks for students
- Cover insurance for students and tutors
- Pay for space to hold the program
- Pay tutors for their time and dedication
This program is more than tutoring. It builds confidence, keeps kids safe, and gives youth meaningful opportunities to work and learn. Education is the only way to break the cycle of poverty, and your support ensures these children have a chance to succeed.
Please donate whatever you can. Every contribution helps us keep the doors open, the lights on, and the future bright for our kids.
Together, we can show that happy moms mean happy children, happy communities, and a happy nation.
