Help keep Fairfax Liquors open!!

Hello!

Milton Evensizer is the owner of Fairfax Liquors; a liquor store located in Colorado Springs, CO, that has been serving the community since 2009. Milton is the fourth owner of the store but has worked for all previous owners before buying the store on February 6th, 2020. Before the pandemic, the store was thriving with little debt, but when Covid-19 hit, and most businesses and regular activities were forced to shut down, Fairfax Liquors began experiencing a steady decline in sales and mounting debt, even though the store was considered, by the state, an “essential business”. To survive, Milton did whatever he could to keep paying his employees and stay open. However, now that it’s early 2021 and vaccines are being distributed and the spread of the virus is declining, Fairfax Liquors is still suffering slow sales with no quick rebound anytime soon.

BTW, Milton does not know his staff is doing this page for him, because he didn’t want to ask for financial assistance from his customer base and people he knows. He is like some people and doesn’t like to ask for help but we realize that he must ask for some kind of help in order to keep his employees and to keep Fairfax Liquors open. He is trying to do everything on his own, and it’s taking a huge toll on him and his health, so we feel it was our duty to ask for help on his behalf, and hopefully take some of the pressure off of him.

Milton needs your help!

Small businesses have suffered greatly for most of 2020 and still are at the beginning of 2021. Fairfax Liquors is one of those small businesses that is struggling to stay open.  We have been working hard to withstand the devastation Covid-19 has caused and, like everyone, we are learning to navigate.  However, with the continuation of rent, utilities, and other operating costs Fairfax Liquors is continuously sliding backwards.  Like many other small businesses, COVID-19 has presented Fairfax Liquors with many challenges and Milton and his staff have done everything in their power to keep Fairfax Liquors safe and open, including creating safety rules and measures that go beyond what is suggested and required by the CDC and local government.

When the first round of PPP loans became available, Milton could not apply because he was a new business at that time and one of the requirements for approval were having done 2019 business tax returns which he did not have because he did not own the store in that year, so he did everything to stay open during the pandemic by using any money he got, including already spending most of his personal savings as well as the limited savings of the business.

Presently, Milton is trying desperately to keep his doors open, and he worries about how much longer he can stay in business.  His costs keep rising as he still pays his staff and all the other expenses that do not stop such as rent, utilities, vendors, taxes, etc.  However, now that round two of the PPP is available, he is eligible to apply, but the amount he qualifies for, if he even gets it, will not be enough.

Milton needs your help!

Any amount of support from you, the community, is greatly appreciated, and your gift will be used to help Fairfax Liquors pay its rent, employees, utilities, other business costs and continue to provide product for the awesome community. Please help keep Fairfax Liquors open!

Know that no gift is too small, and all are appreciated.
