Hello! My name is Karina and on 19 April 2026, I’ll be taking on the Cracovia Marathon. This will be my second marathon and it holds deep personal significance for me, as I’ll be running in my home country, Poland.
Why I’m Running: I’m doing this to raise vital funds for my sons’ swimming club – Enniskillen Lakelanders. Last year, our local pool in Enniskillen closed for a major redevelopment, which is fantastic news, but the project will take 3–5 years to complete.
In the meantime, our 60 club members must travel up to five times a week to Omagh Leisure Centre. This is a huge challenge and we rely on parents and local bus companies to make it possible. With costs rising sharply, I want to do everything I can to support and sustain this wonderful club, which has an incredible impact on our local community. As well as the exercise and competitions, our children learn life-saving skills, develop healthy lifestyles, build confidence and make lifelong friends.
Your support will make a real difference:
• The club will be able to invest in its future by supporting senior members to get their coaching qualifications.
• It will also help those qualifying for the Irish National Championships, giving them the opportunity to compete at the highest level.
Together, we can keep these talented athletes in the water during this difficult period and help them achieve their dreams—both in and out of the pool.
Thank you so much for your support!
