In Loving Memory of Douglas Martin Phipps Sr.

I’m creating this GoFundMe in honor of my father, Douglas Martin Phipps Sr., who passed away on September 11, 2025.

Anyone who knew my dad will tell you that, while he may not have had much in material things, he had a heart of gold. He would help anyone with anything if he possibly could.

When I was just two years old, my dad was in a horrific car accident that left him physically disabled. Despite everything that was stacked against him, he stepped up and became the best father I could have ever asked for — and later, the most loving grandfather my children could ever have. Family was everything to him.

Now, in his passing, our family is facing a difficult reality. My dad had no life insurance and had been living on Social Security Disability for many years. We simply do not have the funds to cover his funeral expenses or the legal fees needed to manage his estate and keep my childhood home — the home he worked so hard to provide for us — from being taken by the state due to Medicaid assistance.

It’s incredibly hard to ask for help, but I know in my heart that my dad would have done the same for anyone else in need. So I’m reaching out to anyone who knew him or who feels moved to help our family during this time.

Your donations will go directly toward my dad’s funeral costs and legal expenses to ensure that his home remains with our family — just as he always wanted.
