Help Keep Displaced Lebanese Families Warm This Winter

As the conflict in Southern Lebanon escalates, thousands of families have been forced to run away and seek safety in the mountains.

These families face a new threat: freezing temperatures.

In the mountainous regions of Lebanon, it often snows - something many people don't realise.

Without proper heating, these already vulnerable families are at risk of severe health problems and possibly death.

HERE'S THE GOOD NEWS

We've already started supporting these families. In the first two weeks since the bombing on South Lebanon started, we've distributed:

PHASE 1: WE WANT TO BUY 100 HEATERS

We want to see how many people want to join our mission to support as many people as possible through winter in the Lebanese mountains and beyond.

100 heaters can help up to 500 people keep warm - and we hope it's only the beginning.

The more money we raise, the more families we can support!

These families have already lost so much. The least we can do is help them stay warm and safe as they try to rebuild their lives.

Winter is already upon us, and temperatures are falling fast.

Without heaters, these families - many with young children and elderly relatives - could face life-threatening cold within the next few weeks.

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP

Our first priority is providing heaters to families who are currently living in temporary shelters, makeshift housing, or abandoned buildings with no proper heating source.

If we meet our initial goal, we will also provide essential items like blankets, mattresses, and basic products such as food and hygiene supplies to further ease their burden.

But for now the most urgent aspect of our mission is to keep these people warm.

These are the heaters we want to purchase, they cost $60 including the smoke pipes and necessary accessories (to avoid smoking up a shelter that is).

WHO ARE WE

We all met whilst working on a project supporting the lives of refugees in Lebanon back in 2019.

Lubna and Omar have also worked together at the Habitat for Humanity Lebanon office together (before it was shut down in 2020) - and they are both still engaged in humanitarian work in the region.

THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW

In the mountains of Lebanon, winter is unforgiving. Temperatures can drop below freezing, and heavy snowfall is common.

Many of the displaced families are unprepared for such extreme conditions. Children, the elderly, and those in poor health are especially vulnerable.

Without heating, they face a long winter filled with suffering.
