We know how much we have already asked, and it weighs heavily on us. We never imagined needing to ask again, but our situation has changed, and we are reaching out because we truly have no other option.

Our baby, Jaxson, is back in PICU.

At just over a year old, he has already survived cancer, major spinal surgeries, and ongoing treatment that most adults would never endure. He was diagnosed on October 14, and since then our lives have been measured in hospital rooms, machines, scans, and waiting for doctors to speak.

We were finally preparing to go home and find a routine. Justin was meant to return to work. We were meant to breathe.

Instead, on Christmas Eve, we were involved in a serious car accident.

Our baby, who had only just come out of spinal surgery and cancer treatment, was thrown straight back into a high-risk medical situation. His fragile body could not cope. He was readmitted, and now he is fighting again in ICU.

Justin was injured in the accident. His back is badly damaged. I’m injured too. But none of that matters compared to the fact that our son is back in intensive care.

This accident didn’t just hurt us physically.

It destroyed the fragile plan we had to survive.

Justin was meant to go back to work to support our family.

Now he can’t.

And I cannot do this alone.

I am a hospital mum living minute to minute. I am watching monitors instead of clocks. I am making medical decisions instead of sleeping. I cannot be in PICU with our baby and also manage everything else without my husband beside me.
