Help Keep Cozy Cats Shelter Safe & Supported!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Crystal Burditt, and I am the President of Cozy Cats Shelter. If you know us, you know that our heart beats for our community—both two-legged and four-legged. To date, we have celebrated 254 successful cat adoptions, but our mission goes much deeper than finding forever homes for our feline friends.

We are proud to serve as a vital community hub. Cozy Cats Shelter operates a free food pantry, partners with local memory care units to provide crafts, works closely with amazing organizations like the ESA, ARC, and the Arnold Center, and proudly hosts vital support groups for domestic violence survivors and military veterans.

Because our facility relies heavily on community generosity to keep these programs running, we need your help to protect and organize our resources.

Why We Need Your Help: Urgent Security, Storage, & Equipment Needs

As our shelter and community programs continue to grow, we face critical logistical challenges. Recently, these needs have become urgent due to a rise in trespassing and targeted thefts on our property:

• Stolen Maintenance Equipment: Our shelter relies on specific tools for daily maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep. Disappointingly, thieves recently targeted our facility and stole our leaf blower and our ladder. We must replace these tools immediately to keep our grounds safe, clean, and accessible for everyone.

• Theft at Our Can Drive: We also rely on ongoing bottle and can drives to help fund our daily operations. Devastatingly, we have had donated cans stolen right off our property, taking vital funds directly away from the cats and programs that need them most.

• Trespassing & Unwanted Activity: In addition to these thefts, we have experienced issues with individuals wandering around our property randomly outside of operating hours, creating a safety concern for our volunteers and animals.

Our Three-Step Plan to Move Forward

To address these issues and protect our shelter, we are launching this fundraiser to support three critical components:

1. Replacing Our Stolen Equipment: Funding will allow us to immediately purchase a new leaf blower and ladder so we can stay on top of facility maintenance and winter preparation.

2. A Complete Security System: Protecting the cats in our care, our dedicated volunteers, and the vulnerable community members who attend our support groups is our absolute highest priority. A comprehensive camera and security setup will deter trespassers, prevent further theft, and ensure our building remains a safe haven 24/7.

3. A New Storage Shed: A dedicated, lockable storage shed will allow us to safely lock up our maintenance tools, donations, bulk food, and equipment, keeping them secure from theft while freeing up vital space inside the facility.
