Target met! Thank you all so much.

For more than 10 years the small Czech charity " Tlapky z Korfu z.s./ Paws from Corfu " has looked after and re-homed stray cats and dogs in Corfu. Last year we started a new shelter for our foster dogs and puppies in a beautiful olive grove (which was donated to us by a Greek farmer). There are 16 large fenced pens arranged around a spacious central exercise area.
Most of the dogs now live in large concrete kennels, each with space for 3 dogs but some pens still only have plastic kennels without proper foundations. The plastic kennels are easily damaged and not provide the same comfort and safety as the concrete kennels. Concrete kennels are more expensive than plastic but much more durable. They stay cool in Corfu's hot summer and in winter they keep the dogs and puppies warm and dry - protected from Corfu' s rain and hail.
We need to build 5 more concrete kennels to complete the shelter (last year was built 13 with donations from Czech Republic and Germany). Total cost for each kennel (for 3 dogs) is 750 euros including labour (approximately 650 Pounds), they will last for decades. We will make several small improvements based on our experience last year - for example slightly larger roof to protect from both sunshine and rain.
We re-home 90% of our dogs and cats - a few stay with us forever, but most find happy homes in Europe and the UK. All our work is done by unpaid volunteers .
If you are a UK taxpayer we can claim Gift Aid if you donate via our partners "Corfu Umbrella" which is UK registered charity no.1189739
Please help keep Corfu's dogs warm and dry this winter.
