Coach George has changed the lives of countless individuals of all ages and abilities through competitive gymnastics and trampoline training and has coached athletes and coaches working with Special Olympics, Veterans, and many more. George is a three time world champion in trampoline and floor exercise, and a national vaulting champion.
When George went for treatment for what appeared to be a small skin cancer near his eye, diagnostics showed that the unseen part of the cancer was wrapped around his eye. Thanks to generous donations through this platform, the surgeon has been able to save George’s eye, and Coach George received a life saving pace maker. However, further testing showed that the cancer has spread throughout George's body, and while he has had some surgery done to remove cancer growths, he needs more surgeries, skin grafts, and follow up treatment.
All money raised will go to paying current medical debts and affording Coach George the treatments he needs to BEAT CANCER!
We are raising money for George to cover these costs for a full recovery and to make sure that he heals and that he maintains a full life, and to provide him comfort. We need to cover the costs of the surgeries, treatment, grafts, medication and aftercare. The funds are needed immediately. Any additional funds raised after our funding cap will go to George for recovery, home care, and physical therapy.
Coach George receives his Lifetime Achievement Award from USA Gymnastics in 2016.
It is important to us to give back to someone who has given so much. George is well loved in the gymnastics community. He has dedicated his life to fitness education, conducting national clinics for the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sport, he helped to initiate Special Olympics gymnastics programs at Shriver’s Ranch, taught at school assemblies across the US, conducted special workshops throughout Australia to help start their 10 levels of Girls’ Gymnastics programs, and judged the men’s gymnastics, trampoline and tumbling, and Gymnastics for All competitions across the US.
