Help Keep Chuck Rose Rockin’

Donation protected
Hello dear friends & family. I’m hoping to raise some much needed funds for my beloved husband, and renowned, long-time DFW musician, Chuck Rose. These funds would be used to cover his surgery, continued medical care and lost wages to keep up with bills. Earlier this year Chuck was sent by our dentist to a periodontist to have some gum tissue looked at. That periodontist then biopsied a lesion in his bottom gum, didn’t like the changes in the cells and re-biopsied. He was then sent to an oral cancer specialist and surgeon who determined that the lesion would have to be removed. On Tuesday, the doctor extracted Chuck’s front four, bottom teeth and a roughly nickel-sized area of gum tissue lying beneath. Although the biopsy samples already tested did not yet show cancer, the surgeon believes they are in fact cancerous in other, unbiopsied areas or will shortly develop into cancer. The tissue they removed Tuesday has been sent to the lab for further pathology testing. So total removal was thought to be the best course of action. In the time after the biopsy results, and while consulting with our primary doctor, another spot was found under his tongue. Originally, Dr. Williams was going to biopsy this tissue at the time of Chuck’s surgery but has instead decided to keep a watchful eye on the patch. We are heartened to know that this kind of cancer, if caught early is highly treatable. Unfortunately there is a large out of pocket expense we must bear as well as ongoing medical bills, large pre-existing medical debt and the mortgage and monthly bills. I have tried to be positive on social media and not dwell on the heavy things going on and of course I take my roll as Ambassador of Fun in this marriage seriously. I will always try to get Chuck to smile and live as much of a fulfilling life as he can. He particularly loves being outdoors and takes respite in the soul restoring power of Nature. Chuck is such a hard working man and although we both work full time and Chuck typically works an additional 10-15 hours a week of over-time, unfortunately, we are still drowning in debt mostly due to medical expenses. It’s been a rough past year for both of us. It really goes against both of our natures to put ourselves out there and ask for help. And we don’t want anyone to be sad or dwell on this. But I also don’t want my husband to keep worrying about us. He shouldn’t have to even THINK about returning to his 6-day a week job before he is fully healed and the majority of the pain has receded and we’re onto the next part of this plan. We will need to stay on top of this. He will need some post-surgical medical help in the form of construction of a permanent “flipper” or implants to replace the surgical “flipper” along with tissue reconstruction work. Maybe light speech therapy as well. And of course, life-long monitoring. Neither of us have 401ks and our savings have all gone towards the surgery, as well as maxing out all of our credit cards. So if you have the means to chip in any amount, I am sincerely grateful and if I can somehow help you in return, seriously, PLEASE let me know! I know how to do all kinds of things! And that’s what this is all about-paying it forward and helping when able to do so, asking for help when in need. I’m so grateful for your friendship & love for Chuck Rose. He’s the absolute love of my life and the very best human being I know. He makes me proud every day, makes me laugh even if I don’t feel like it, inspires me with his incredible talent and dedication to making music and always dutifully ensures we have our basic needs met. Thank you all and please feel free to SHARE. We are getting closer and closer to our goal. Please note, $3k will pay for his initial surgery, which was Tuesday and go towards construction of a custom fitted “flipper” (basically a retainer with teeth) to replace his looser, flexible (as he heals, a necessity) surgical flipper. We are hoping that at least these expenses are covered. Anything donated above and beyond our goal will go towards lost wages necessary to pay monthly bills including our mortgage. I’ve been asked if there are other ways to help. Well, there are actually—PM me if you’re interested. Thank you again.
