All of our children are unique, but imagine being told that your child is “uniquely different” - “neurodivergently different”. Autistic, to be exact. Where do you go with that? Well, not to most public schools these days, sad to say. My cousin and my wife’s dear friend Laura Chandler has faced such a battle throughout her daughter Chloe’s entire life. Unfortunately, Chloe’s diagnosis at age 12 came late in the world of autism, so Chloe had already faced years enduring so many battles that a child should never face - self doubt, ridicule, shaming, bullying and feelings of failure. You would think a child facing such insurmountable odds would give up, fold up and totally withdraw. Not Chloe! She is not a quitter and thanks to her mom’s unwavering persistence and Chloe’s tireless optimism, she is succeeding. She has found a place, The University of the Ozarks, where she feels accepted and appreciated! Isn’t that what all parents wish for their child? She is thriving there and blossoming into the amazing person she was created to be. In fact, Chloe made the Dean’s List this Fall 2025 semester. The only catch is financial. Her mother Laura has exhausted her personal resources to keep Chloe in school thus far and financial support that had been pledged for a balance remaining for Fall 2025 semester and upcoming expenses for Spring 2026 semester has not come through. We are setting our goal at $13,000.00 with prayers that it will exceed that and allow her to remain in this wonderful environment that encourages and promotes her amazing, artistic gifts. She is majoring in graphic design, having finally found her niche where she feels successful and appreciated for the incredible person she is and will continue to become. Please consider contributing to this endeavor to allow Chloe to remain in this phenomenal environment. On behalf of Chloe and Laura, we extend sincere thanks!!
