Hello! As you know, October is domestic abuse awareness month, and there’s someone I’d really like to help out.

She doesn’t know I’m doing this, but I’m hoping we can all surprise her. I met her when she adopted a rescue cat of ours over 2 years ago, (Many of you may remember Twyla) and recently she reached out, brokenhearted, that she needed to rehome her beloved cats.

She told me that her husband was emotionally abusing her, controlling, a situation that is all too familiar to many of us.

She was able to file for divorce and find an apartment (So strong and brave!) with her young son. Unfortunately the pet deposit was hundreds, and after that, it’s $60 a month per cat. ($1440 a year)

We were happy to pay the initial deposit for her so that she’ll be able to keep them, but the monthly fee really adds up. And we all know how expensive cat food is these days. Plus any vet visit that should come up.

It’s so hard to start out on your own again, let alone with a young son and an abusive ex husband. Keeping her cats with her is something that would mean so much, I don’t know how I’d have survived without my own two kitties after I left.

Let’s help her stay on her feet, with her cats by her side! She was so kind to adopt Twyla, now I’d love to help keep her and her sweet family safe and together.
