Help Keep Brian the Corgi Safe: Legal Fees Needed

Hello everyone!

I hate to ask, but I am in desperate need of help to pay for a lawyer to represent me with my case before I go into trial against my abusive ex to win the right to keep my dog (whom I have been taking great care of alone for almost 3 years already)

Here is a little history of what is going on.

In 2020 my Ex and I got the most perfect Corgi named Brian who soon became my world.

In August 2021, my world was turned upside down when my emotionally and mentally abusive ex became physical. Because of that, I had to spend the next 3 months living in a hotel and would pick up my baby Brian every day after work from my abusive ex, and bring him back to him in the morning before work.

Sadly, from November to January, I had to make the hardest decision to leave Brian with my ex because my short-term living situation did not allow dogs. It broke my heart and I never got used to sleeping without my fur ball.

More altercations continued during this time and in January 2022 I finally ended this emotionally, mentally, and physically abuse and petitioned for a restraining order. The next month, my ex didn't show up to the hearing, and the judge gave an order that I could go to his residence with a police escort to get my baby Brian back.

With a successful outcome of the hearing, I thought I would finally be able to move on, but in December 2022, I was served papers because my ex decided to sue me for "property" (meaning Brian)

After a mediation, and multiple hearings, nothing has been settled and I am still in this lawsuit which is now going to trial.

I have been taking care of Brian independently for almost three years; he is my pride and joy. With this case going to trial, I feel I am in way over my head and have to get representation.

My abuser has been finding ways to control me still for 5 years ( 2 years dating, 3 years with a lawsuit) and i just want to be able to keep my baby Brian and move on.

All funds will be put towards a lawyer as we end this case and I get to keep my baby!
