Beach Street Pizza needs our help.

A family-owned business and a Santa Cruz local’s favorite. As we all know Kathy and Steve created an environment where folks from any walk of life could comfortably sit together and enjoy a beer, a slice of pizza, or a burger while enjoying the beautiful scenery of Santa Cruz beach.

While Kathy and Steve have met many challenges over the years, nothing compares to the effects of Covid-19. This time is different. This is no normal business cycle. This year the coronavirus threatens everything that Kathy and Steve worked so hard to create.

With so much uncertainty and concern surrounding the recent novel coronavirus, it’s easy to feel helpless. And now we might face a very hard winter making everything even harder for all of us. Like many small businesses and family-owned restaurants during this pandemic, Beach Street is facing the sad reality that its doors may have to close forever.

Despite taking every step recommended to upgrade the takeout business, lower all costs while taking care of employees, and judicially use Payroll Protection Plan funding, sales continued to drop making very hard to considering keeping the restaurant open 7 days a week or opened at all in the few months to come.

And that’s why we (the employees of Beach Street) created this Go Fund Me. We are so grateful for all the efforts and hard work that Kathy and Steve are doing so we can have a job. We can still work and provide for ourselves and our loved ones. We all love Beach Street Pizza and all the people we have met. People that now are just like family to us.

With this Go Fund Me effort we are asking for donations from everyone for whom Kathy and Steve's business has been home for important moments in their lives; celebrating a marriage (or a divorce), a new job, a birthday, anniversary, holiday parties, or just a walk at the beautiful Santa Cruz scenery.

If you can donate to this fund, please know that every dollar will go to help Beach Street Pizza survive. Please contribute as generously as you can. Together, we can look forward to the brighter times, and when this is all gone we will still have our favorite place to hang out.
