Help Us Keep the Roof Over Our Riders' Heads!

At the drum, we provide a safe and supportive space for adults and children with disabilities to experience the joy of horseback riding. Since 1959 our mission has been to help these incredible people build confidence, strength, and independence, all while having fun and connecting with amazing animals. Our organisation is able to offer this service because of the amazing work by the staff and volunteers.

Ena, the back bone of The Drum has dedicated more than 30 years of her life to making dreams come true.

All of this wouldn’t be possible without the More-Nisbett Family. For 3 generations now the generosity and support has been instrumental in The Drum’s success and longevity.

However, our building is in urgent need of repairs—specifically, the roof. Without it, we risk being unable to continue providing our life-changing programs. The roof is leaking, and with your support, we can ensure that our riding school remains a place where adults and children can continue to thrive.

Our beloved mascot, Hector, recently became a local celebrity when he was featured on BBC1 The Repair Shop to getting some much-needed repairs of his own! Just like Hector, our building needs a little TLC to continue supporting the people who depend on us.

To fix the roof we need to raise £95,000. So far we currently have £50,000 saved but now we need that extra support from people far and wide to raise the rest.

Every penny raised will go directly towards the cost of repairing the roof, ensuring that our riders, volunteers, and staff have a safe, warm, and dry place to continue doing what we do best—helping adults and children with disabilities grow through equine therapy.
