Hi. I am a mother in desperate need of raising some funds to help my son stay in school. We have tried every thing possible for additional funding and got denied, so as a Mom I have to do whatever it takes to help him be successful, even if it means swallowing my pride and asking for help. I'm willing to do just about anything to be able to keep him enrolled at college.
He is currently enrolled at Hamline University and was scouted to be a pitcher for their baseball team. His coach was able to find scholarships to cover his tuition, he applied for FAFSA, and took out the federal loans, but he still has a $7,183.97 balance on his account which is hindering him from registering for the spring semester. He absolutely loves Hamline University and does not want to have to drop out and come back to Grand Marais to live a dead-end life. He is thriving at Hamline! Besides baseball, he is doing excellent academically as well, with his GPA always above a 3.5! He is such a an amazing kind and caring young man, a great brother, and a great son. I don't know anyone more deserving than him!
After this year, he is able to apply to be an RA at his dorm, and then his room and board will be covered, so this negative balance will not be an ongoing issue. I wish I could just pay this balance off myself, but it's a struggle staying afloat being a single mother of three that doesn't receive child support or government assistance. So if there is any way you can help this amazing young man be able to remain in school, please do! It will forever be greatly appreciated! Every dollar raised will be used to bring his balance down so he can register for spring classes. I think I can scrape up part of it and that's why the goal is set lower than what he owes...
