Hello, this last May'25 I felt great, able to walk both pups every nite and working 15-20 hrs OT a week, then came June'25, It started with not being able to catch my breath from a short couch to bathroom walk next it felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. My body was shutting down, I went to the 1st ER and was admitted but when they couldnt figure it out after 1 week they sent me home, a couple days I went back with same sickening symptoms and was readmitted, they found my white blood cells were exploding. They finally did a bone marrow aspiration and found I had ASD and released me to an Oncologist, her reading of my blood tests and marrow tests shocked her, this disease had already progressed to AML, after 3 weeks I had progressed to Accute Myeloid Lukemia. It's the worse news my 57 yr old body could have gotten. I have the best Oncology dept at Barnes Jewish hosp, were doing monthly chemo by 1 week of IV drip and pill form the week after to keep the white blood cells at bay but along with the weekly blood tests and blood transfusions, I'm on FMLA and STD from my work. Short Term Disability pays 60% which Im thankful for but it doesn't cover our monthly expenses like my OT hours were. I thought I'd try this to ask if anyone, that has it, could help keep our heads above water and not loose everything, we rent and hubby gets disability but we're really struggling. Anything you could spare would be deeply appreciated, sharing my story would be a wonderful gift and prayers and well wishes will help keep my spirits up. After 3 rounds of chemo it isn't getting me any closer to the remission goal for a bone marrow transplant of healthy donor cells to finally fight this off for good. I will add to my journey if anything comes of this and i would like to thank u all for listening...
