Help Keely's Family with Legal Defense Support

On October 24, local teenage activist Keely was arrested in Roanoke City while protesting to raise awareness of the ongoing starvation of Palestine. Keely was holding a sign that read "ask me about Palestine" and playing music on a small speaker at a "Dr Pepper Day" event downtown. Roanoke City Police approached Keely and subsequently arrested them. Keely has been held at Coyner Springs Juvenile Detention Center ever since.

For a simple act of nonviolent protest, Keely was charged with a felony and a misdemeanor, and spent several days in solitary confinement before being allowed into the general population, where they are still being held today.

Their trial is set for 11am this Thursday 6th November in Roanoke City Juvenile Court. Folks will be gathering outside the courthouse and anyone is welcome to come show support!

Their family is hoping to raise funds to help cover legal expenses and family support while Keely has been incarcerated.
