My little sister Keeley just turned 21 this past March, and she truly means everything to me. She’s not just my sister, she’s my best friend. Keeley is one of the most caring people I have ever met. She is always the first to lend a hand and has a giving heart that shows in everything she does. She has been working hard toward her goals and is set to graduate on April 24th with her certification as a phlebotomy technician. We hope she can still make it to her graduation, even with everything going on, because she has worked so hard for this milestone.

Keeley was first diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome in June of 2025. We went through a similar situation almost a year ago, and she was able to recover without surgery. Unfortunately, her condition has returned and has been much harder this time. SMA Syndrome is a rare condition where an artery presses on part of the small intestine, making it very difficult to eat or maintain nutrition, and causing severe pain and nausea. She has been in the hospital since April 2nd and will stay until her surgery, expected around the 16th or 17th. Right now, she is focusing on regaining her strength and nutrition for the procedure. Because of this, she has had to miss a lot of work, adding even more stress. Watching her stay strong through all of this amazes my family and me every day.
