Hi, meet Keawe (K-ah-vay) and his family!
Keawe is 14 (15 on May 20th) and loves sports - loves to play them, and loves to watch them. You're likely to find him taking a shot on the lacrosse field, running with a football, skiing down a mountain in BC, or surfing in his dad's hometown on Oahu. Keawe and his family live in the Seattle area, where his dad, Keoni, is a fireman, and his mom, Michelle, is a nurse. His younger brother, Kainoa, is in 6th grade, and also loves to play sports.
(Keawe is on the left in the picture below.)
Keawe was diagnosed on April 21st, 2022 with Ewing's Sarcoma, a cancer that develops in connective tissues, including bones, cartilage, muscles, veins, arteries, nerves, skin and tissues.
We are early in this process. Keawe has started a 29 week treatment plan with chemotherapy, as well as potential for surgery and radiation.
Michelle has taken a leave from work to be at every treatment, and focus on taking care of Keawe (and the family) as they navigate this life-threatening challenge.
Our lacrosse community has come together to support the Browns, and we're hoping you will help us. Keoni and Michelle have dedicated their lives to taking care of others, and now we have a chance to take care of them, in whatever way we can.
Their family word is "IMUA", which means to move forward with strength, courage and in strong spirit!
IMUA Keawe!
Thank you for your consideration and generosity.
