Keating, AKA “Keat”, sustained a severe brain injury at birth. Despite the odds being against him, Keat is an absolute WARRIOR and has made incredible gains, surpassing what many doctors said he would do! However, Keating continues to demonstrate deficits in mobility, feeding, and language that are impacting his ability to interact with the world in the way he desperately wants/deserves. When we started this journey, we vowed to leave no stone unturned and we will continue to do just that! 

There is a promising treatment called NeuroCytonix in Monterrey, Mexico. This transformational medical technology is designed to stimulate brain regeneration, restoring the structure of the nervous system. It uses a combination of instantaneous magnetic fields and targeted radiofrequency (RF) waves. The protocol is non-invasive and safe with no known side effects. This treatment will require us to stay in Mexico for the entire month of July and Keat will receive daily treatments. The Mexican regulatory authority COFEPRIS has acknowledged the results of the NeuroCytonix clinical trial and approved the protocol for cerebral palsy. This treatment is in compliance with the FDA rules of “Good Clinical Practice” (GCP) and likely will be an approved treatment in the US in the next few years, but we cannot wait that long as it’s imperative we treat earlier for best results during the most optimal time for neuroplasticity (under 3 years). We know of several children who are part of the clinical trial, including friends of ours within the brain injury community, who have had miraculous gains and we are extremely hopeful this will give us the breakthrough we have been working so hard for. 

This treatment, as well as most of Keat’s other treatments, are not covered by insurance, and are paid completely out of pocket; the above treatment alone will cost $55,000.
