It's hard to find words big enough to describe what my sister in law, Keari, and the entire Martin family are going through right now.

If you know Keari, you already know she is the backbone of her family - the one that keeps everyone and everything together, no matter how heavy life gets.

Now she is facing the biggest fight of her life - and its one no family should ever have to face.

Keari is undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatment for stage 4b Hodgkin's Lymphoma after a simple lump check just 6 short weeks ago. It's a long gruelling battle filled with endless hospital stays, brutal treatments and days that take every ounce of strength she has left. Yet even on her weakest days, she's still trying to be mum - still holding her kids, still smiling through the pain, still fighting for everyone she loves.

Keari is a devoted mum of six, including her beautiful daughter Airlie, who lives with complex needs and multiple disabilities due to a rare GRIN2B genetic condition, and her little boy Tyde, who was recently diagnosed with hearing impairment. Even before cancer, her days were overflowing with therapy sessions, school meetings, medical appointments, and the chaos of a big loving household. She never complained - she just kept going.

Just 18 months before her diagnoses, the family relocated to Far North Queensland, chasing a fresh start and a better life for their children. In doing so, they left behined their closest family, lifelong friends and their entire support network in NSW. Starting over is never easy - but doing so while battling cancer has been unimaginably hard.

Now they can't do it alone.

Keari started her dream job just 3 months before diagnosis ( as you would all guess in community parental support ) her specialist cancer team have advised she is unable to return to work during her treatment and possibly sometime afterwards, and the financial toll on the family has become overwhelming. The bills don't stop, the kids still need care and the day to day costs keep adding up.
