Keanu is a active and friendly 6 year old, currently living in Eastern Mont.
On June 19, Keanu was having the best summer day, riding bikes around a quiet neighborhood, and playing at the park with his friends. On their bike ride home, that quickly changed.
He fell off his bike and took a handlebar to his abdomen resulting in extensive damage to his pancreas. He was taken to the ER at his small-town, community hospital, where they did blood tests and a CT Scan. They do not have any pediatric Surgeon's at the local hospital; they had to fly Keanu to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City for more specialized care.
Keanu underwent surgery on June 20th to remove the damaged half of his pancreas. He spent several days in hospital recovering from the surgery and was sent home with a drain to aid in his continued healing. He was also given a month of daily shots, which his mom administers to him twice a day, to prevent blood clots and many follow-up appointments (sometimes out of town) to assure his continued health and healing.
Keanu and his family do not have any medical insurance and the medical bills are building up quickly. To date, these bills are sitting at $172,000 with more still expected to arrive by mail.
Please consider donating to help his parents cover the costs of his care.
Thank you for considering donating to help this sweet boy and wonderful family!
