Help Keagan on her Road to Recovery
Donation protected
We were devastated to learn that our treasured granddaughter Keagan was in a head-on collision on the I-89 freeway in Williston VT on Jan 17th, 2023. Her injuries were extensive and quite serious. We were unsure for a time if she was going to recover from the trauma she experienced that day.
She had a broken femur, a broken pelvis and a broken back (in three places). She had staples placed in her head, and she was covered from head to toe in cuts and bruises. Multiple surgeries were performed to repair her pelvis and to place a rod and screw into her leg. A few days following, she was rushed into emergency surgery to address a perforation in her colon as toxins were filling her core.
You can imagine how excited we all were when we found that she had been transferred to a rehabilitation facility on Feb 10th, 2023 and that her time in the hospital was not as long as expected.
Unfortunately, before even settling in at the rehab center, our girl was transferred back to the hospital when a CT scan showed that fluid was collecting in her abdomen.
After the insurance coverage, the unreimbursed medical bills will be astronomical and will be her responsibility. It will be some time before she is able to walk again, much less return to work. To add insult to injury, her home where she lives with her husband and two sons, will have to be modified to accommodate a wheelchair. These modifications will need to be addressed before she can return to her family.
With the cost of the hospital stay, the stay in the rehabilitation facility, and the necessary modifications to their home, this young family is overwhelmed.
I am reaching out to each of you today, to humbly ask for assistance. We know these are hard times for many, so not all will be able to donate. Please give if you are able and share this post with your family and friends. We would be most grateful.
We are so blessed by your support. I am grateful that this platform exists so that I have been able to reach out to you. Thank you, thank you so very much for helping to support our granddaughter and her family during this difficult time.
You are a blessing to Keagan, her husband, their children and all of us who hold her close in our hearts. Please accept our sincere gratitude.
Love to all
