Our dear friend, 18-year-old Kailynn Smith, was involved in a terrible barn related incident while bringing horses in from turnout . This accident is NOT riding or completion related . Kailynn was a barn hand . Kailynn was kicked, resulting in a grade 3 laceration to her liver, and is in ICU at the trauma center in Jacksonville, FL. UPDATE : Kailynn is home and on bed rest for a few months . She has worked hard to be around horses her entire life as a working student / barnhand allowing her the opportunity to engage with horses that otherwise would not be available .
