Help Kaylyn After Unexpected Cancer Diagnosis

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Karen, and I’m fundraising for my daughter, Kaylyn.

At just 30 years old, Kaylyn recently underwent a preventive double mastectomy due to her BRCA1 gene mutation, something we knew put her at a high risk for breast cancer. What we didn’t expect was for them to actually find cancer during the surgery.

Kaylyn was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC), Grade 3, found in her right breast. It’s an aggressive form of breast cancer, and while we are grateful it was caught early, this has completely changed the course of her recovery and future. She is now facing a long road ahead that includes appointments with oncology, possible further treatment, hormone therapy, and more surgeries — all while being a mother, wife, and someone who normally works very hard to help support her family.

She will be out of work for an unknown amount of time as she heals physically and emotionally from all of this. I want to do whatever I can to help ease some of her burden. As a mom, it’s heartbreaking to watch your child go through something like this, and while I can’t take away her pain, I can ask for help.

Any donation — no matter how small — will go directly to helping Kaylyn with medical bills, travel expenses for treatment, and living costs while she is unable to work. If you can’t give financially, please consider sharing this page and keeping her in your prayers.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
—Karen
