Hi everyone! I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Kaylyn, someone I’ve known and admired for years. Kaylyn has faced more medical challenges than most people do in a lifetime — but through every setback, she’s shown incredible strength, resilience, and grace.
In August of last year, Kaylyn went to the ER thinking she had pneumonia. But what doctors found was far more serious: she was in active heart failure. Her body quickly went into cardiogenic shock, and she remained unconscious for over 10 days. Things worsened fast — her kidneys and liver began to fail, and she was placed on emergency dialysis. During those dark days, her family and friends prepared for the worst.
But in true Kaylyn fashion, she beat the odds and woke up nearly two weeks later. That was just the beginning of a long and difficult road to recovery.
To help relieve stress on her heart, doctors performed a procedure on her left leg, which she was born with a rare and complex vascular malformation in. During surgery, they found the tumor had completely consumed the nerve behind her knee. The only option left was an above-the-knee amputation.
Now, nearly a year later, Kaylyn is back on her feet (literally and figuratively). She’s working full-time, living independently, and embracing her new life with courage and determination. The only thing missing is a prosthetic leg — and that’s where we need your help.
A prosthetic will allow Kaylyn to reclaim even more of her independence, mobility, and confidence. These devices are life-changing — but they’re also expensive.
Please consider donating whatever you can to help us fund Kaylyn’s prosthetic leg. No amount is too small, and every dollar brings her one step closer to walking again.
Thank you so much for your love, prayers, and support.
