Dear Friends, Family, Siblings of SLG, and Compassionate Supporters,
We're reaching out to you with heavy hearts but hopeful spirits as we share the story of Kaylin, Anthony, and Kaylin's 13 year-old brother, Skyler. Their lives were abruptly upended on May 17 when Skyler was removed from his mother and stepfather by CYS due to child endangerment and abuse in the home. In the midst of this turmoil, Kaylin and Anthony made an incredibly brave decision to step in and take Skyler in. Kaylin is a member of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority, Inc. and was initiated at Robert Morris University in Spring 2021 as a founder. She and her fiancé now reside outside Pittsburgh, PA.
Now, they find themselves faced with the daunting task of not only offering emotional support but also ensuring Skyler's physical and financial needs are met. From basic necessities like food, clothing, and school supplies to therapy and legal fees, the financial strain is immense. Kaylin and Anthony are in their early 20s, in the midst of planning their wedding, and in the first years of their career.
Kaylin and Anthony have opened their hearts and home to Skyler, but they can't do it alone. That's why we're turning to you, our community, for help. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in Skyler's life. It will give him the stability and security he needs during this turbulent time.
Your generosity will directly impact Skyler's future, offering him a chance at healing and a brighter tomorrow. Together, we can surround him with love, support, and resources to help him thrive in the wake of unimaginable trauma.
