On May 12th, my 13-year-old daughter, Kaylie, had a life-threatening seizure where I had to step in and resuscitate her. I thought she was having a heart attack and dying right before my eyes! As I lay there with her, waiting for help to arrive, speaking what I thought were my last words to her, begging God not to take her, help finally arrived, and she was taken to Tupelo Hospital! We found out then that her EEG was abnormal and that we needed to get in with a specialist right away! With all of these heart-crushing words these doctors were telling us, the only thing I knew to do was to lean on God! He left her here with us; we have got to trust in Him! On May 19th, we got in with a specialist at Vanderbilt, and there she was diagnosed with epilepsy! We prayed and prayed about it, and a pup was donated to Kaylie to be trained for her as a service animal to assist her. I'm not one to ask for help, but I'm grasping at straws right now. Kaylie has no independence anymore because I'm terrified something will happen! Getting this dog trained to assist her will give Kaylie her life of independence back! I'm swallowing my pride and reaching out to y'all in hope of help with this!!! If you can't donate, please pray for Kaylie and our journey!
