Help Kaylee Continue Her Fight

THE DETAILS:

To say it’s been a challenging year is an understatement. In April and May 2022, Kaylee’s human was hospitalized twice with an infection and pneumonia and was septic. She spent 17 days in ICU. This plea is not about her, though; it’s about Kaylee. Kaylee’s mom writes: On July 5, 2022, my girl, Kaylee, had a partial seizure episode. I took Kaylee to Bush Neurology in Leesburg, VA and blood work showed her liver ALT was 2,134 (high end of normal is 121 and her ALP was 1,642 (high end of normal is 160). The doctors performed an ultrasound, CT Scan, and MRI, which showed a 10 cm mass in her liver, a 3 cm mass on her adrenal gland, a 3 cm mass in her lungs, and a 2.17 mass in her right pituitary gland. Kaylee required surgery as soon as possible to remove the mass in her liver as it was bleeding into her abdomen, causing extreme weakness and ultimately causing the seizure. Only July 12, 2022, the liver mass was removed and thankfully benign. This surprised the doctors, and Kaylee’s journey back to health had begun. #kayleekickincancer

CURRENT SITUATION:

Removing the liver mass was a great start but Kaylee is still facing more surgeries! She still has masses in her lungs, adrenal, and pituitary glands. The Veterinarian Oncologist in Leesburg examined Kaylee and said the mass in Kaylee's lungs is 99% malignant. It's either Carcinoma or Histiocytic Sarcoma, which are both cancers. The Vet recommends it be removed soon.

The mass in her adrenal gland will be monitored with scans. It is very risky to remove the mass in the adrenal gland next to the vena cava vein. If the mass increases and starts penetrating into the vein, it will be removed non-invasively with a camera rather than opening her up.

The mass in her right pituitary gland is most likely slow growing and benign.

HEARTFELT PLEA:

Kaylee’s mom is out of money to get her the surgery she needs!!! Her credit card and Care Credit are already maxed out between her personal medical needs and what she has already spent on Kaylee since July. To date, Kaylee has amassed over $14,000 in medical bills and is quoted an additional $9,600 for her lung mass removal. Surgery was scheduled for September 22, 2022, but it is now postponed because Kaylee's mom couldn't come up with the required deposit! She has already applied for and been turned down for additional loans but is still looking for a way to get the funds to help her faithful and loving girl. She has even applied for grants for cancer treatments, but it takes time to receive that money and sadly, they do not cover much. Time is of the essence, which is why she desperately needs your help! Kaylee is not ready to give up her fight! It would be devasting to come so far already and give up now just for lack of funds. The vet says this procedure will help her live her senior years comfortably (no matter how long). When the time is right, and Kaylee lets her mom know, she will help her peacefully transition, but that time is not yet. Kaylee still has a will to live-she just needs to get that mass out so she can live pain-free. Her mom does not want her to suffer or cut her life short just because she does not have the remaining funds to help her. Can you please help Kaylee??
