Hello friends! My name is Kayla Ziehme. This GoFundMe is set up for my family expenses as my husband has been out of work for over 3 weeks and we are struggling financially.

On March 19th, my husband started to get a migraine and a general not feeling well and came home thinking he just needed to sleep off a cold that was trying to come on. The next morning, he woke up struggling to breathe, had cold sweats, and was vomiting. Thinking he had a cold, we tried to treat it. After a week of nothing letting up, we started to think maybe it was Covid. We continued to treat him with over-the-counter medicine, and he relied heavily on his inhaler.

Tuesday, April 8th, we finally went to walk-in care because he was losing weight, had no color in his face, and with his preexisting lung complications, we didn't want to chance pushing it any longer. As we got in, the nurses clocked his O2 levels at 82% and rushed him into the ER where we found out he is battling pneumonia, fighting pulmonary vasculitis, and bronchiolitis. He has been given several doses of antibiotics, steroids, and breathing treatments to restore his lungs back to full function.

He is still in the hospital this afternoon, April 10th, with no discharge time in sight. With my husband being out of work for almost 4 weeks, the donations we are asking for will help my husband, me, and our two daughters pay the monthly bills and cover what we need for food and traveling expenses.

UPDATE 06/03;

Ethan has started having chest pains as his lungs are trying to heal. We dont have health insurance and in order to get his symbicort we would have to pay 800 dollars.. which would be the only way that his lungs would completely clear out and heal. He visited the cardiologist today and they told him he has an irregular heartbeat. He won't be able to go to work at minimum, another month and could take up to 3 months. She wants to collect data on his heart in order to figure out our next steps. With very little income we are falling behind on all of our bills and any help for us and our girls would be so very appreciated!
