I’m Kayla, and I’m creating this fundraiser for myself, my mom, my brother, and our dog after a devastating house fire changed our lives overnight. The fire was caused by a faulty battery from a bike my mom bought, and when it exploded, we lost our home and nearly everything we owned. On top of that heartbreak, we also lost our cat in the fire. It has been an incredibly painful and overwhelming time for all of us, and right now we are staying in a motel that is only paid for for one month.

We are doing our best to keep going, but living cramped together in a one-bedroom motel room with our pets is not a long-term solution. These funds will help us move toward a real home again, even if it is just a house or townhouse where we can have space, safety, and some sense of normal life back. Having a stable place to live would mean everything to my family as we try to rebuild after losing so much.
