My name is Kayladee McLean, and I’m reaching out for help on behalf of my parents and younger siblings, who recently lost the roof of their home in Newton, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica after the devastating Category 5 Hurricane Melissa.
The hurricane tore through our community, leaving behind severe destruction. My parents’ house — the place where I grew up, full of memories and love — was badly damaged when the roof was completely ripped off by the storm’s violent winds. Most of their belongings were destroyed by rain, and they’re now trying to stay safe while beginning the long road to rebuilding.
We’re doing everything we can to support them, but the cost of repairs and materials is overwhelming. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward basic need such as food, water, clothes, replacing the roof, repairing the interior, and helping them rebuild their lives.
If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this page to help us reach others who might be able to help.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
