If you know Kris you know his story and how long he has fought his health battle. We unfortunately lost Kris on June 22nd. During this difficult time, his wife Kayla shouldn’t have to worry about life expenses!
Kristopher “Kris” David Atkins, 35, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was born in Forsyth County on March 15, 1990, to Kevin Atkins and Lisa Shelton Atkins. Kris is a man whose impact on others cannot be described. He was intelligent and knowledgeable, especially when it came to livestock and antiques. Many would describe Kris as a man with an old soul, and a young heart. He lived each day to the fullest and found himself asking for forgiveness instead of permission in many instances. He was proud of the life he built for himself, his wife, and his children on the farm they tended to. Kris was a chicken enthusiast and enjoyed teaching the kids about the animals and entering them into show bird competitions. When he wasn’t in the yard tending to the garden or caring for the animals, you could find Kris at the beach, the mountains, golfing, and fishing, particularly shark fishing. He was most definitely the outdoors type, and was always active, even when he was not feeling up to it. More than anything, Kris was a family man. He had deep love and care for every person, and animal, that crossed his path. Kris was his kids’ biggest cheerleader, and spent many hours coaching a volunteering with softball, basketball, and other extracurricular events. Kris will forever be remembered as an exceptional father, husband, uncle, brother, son, and friend. He gave all of himself until he was not physically able to. Kris will be missed immensely.
