Hi Everyone! I'm Kayla Battle, a rising junior in university. As most of you know, my undergrad journey has been filled with twists and turns, and has been very untraditional. Between me leaving Howard back in '23 and taking a year off, attending FIU for '24-'25, and now me deciding to go back to Howard for the Fall, it's definitely been a journey handing out lessons.

As much as I want to get my degree from Howard, as part of the lower middle class, I am not eligible for federal funding such as Pell Grant. However, my parents and I do not have the means to pay all of my tuition, averaging about $28K a semester, as we have other expenses just as great. My mom is still paying for damage from Hurricane Milton that FEMA refused to cover, and my dad is getting my grandparents' house fixed as they suffered an electrical fire recently. With me receiving my admission decision from Howard a month before the Fall semester starts, and finding out that tuition increased drastically a couple of weeks before, we had no way of truly planning for me going back.

It would mean so much to my family and I if anyone is able to donate. If unable, that's completely fine, times are hard, hence this fundraiser. All I ask is for this to be shared. Thank you, God bless!
