Help Kayla Rent a Wheelchair Accessible Van

Early Saturday morning, April 20th, my dad was hit head-on while going to get donuts for the family. He was driving our wheelchair accessible van, my only form of transportation. 

Thankfully, he sustained only minor injuries, but the van was totaled. Without a wheelchair accessible van I am entirely unable to leave the house. While insurance should hopefully cover most of the cost of a replacement van, it will be several weeks at least before we can move forward in securing a new vehicle. 

In the meantime, we’re hoping to rent an accessible van to prevent me from being housebound. The best option we’ve found for rentals costs $90/day plus tax when renting for a month. (The per day cost increases for shorter rental periods). 

We’re asking for $3000 to cover the cost of renting an accessible van for a month until we can replace the totaled van. (Assuming, of course, that we can afford to do so. We won’t know for sure until insurance tells us how much they’ll offer us. But we’ll deal with that bridge as it comes.)
