If you know me, you know how hard this is for me to write.

I am a single mom, and I work seven days a week to provide for my children. I have always been the person who figures things out on my own.

To be honest, I'm probably too prideful to ask for help, but this situation has left me with no choice.

On what should have been a normal day, my life changed in an instant. While walking on a trail with my boyfriend, I was viciously attacked by a dog. The attack was terrifying, painful, and something I will never forget.

Police officers, firefighters, and an ambulance responded to the scene. What started as a simple outing ended with me needing emergency medical care.

I am incredibly grateful to be alive. Most of all, I am thankful for my boyfriend, who stepped in and helped save my life during the attack. I truly believe the outcome could have been much worse if he had not been there.

The physical injuries are only part of what I am facing. Between ambulance costs, hospital bills, follow-up medical care, and lost income while I recover, the expenses are already overwhelming and continue to grow. As someone who works every day to support my family, being unable to work at my normal capacity has created a tremendous amount of stress and uncertainty.

What has been especially difficult is knowing that I am left dealing with the physical, emotional, and financial aftermath of this attack. No one expects a simple walk on a trail to turn into a traumatic event that changes their daily life.

As I navigate the recovery process, I am asking for help. Any donation, no matter the amount, will go toward:

• Ambulance and emergency medical bills

• Hospital and follow-up treatment expenses

• Lost wages during recovery

• Other costs related to healing and getting back on my feet
