Hello, my name is Kayla and I am a 20-year-old student trying to afford college. My dream is to live on the stage and inspire many younger people like me, who struggle with their disabilities (epilepsy) and self-image issues. I want to be able to chase my dreams no matter what and show them they can too. Living in Charlotte, NC I have been able to be a part of an incredible theatre community. Through this community, I have grown in my craft and I am now ready to work diligently on my schooling and my career path. So, I have auditioned and have been accepted into a school in New York called Five Towns College. I am here asking you to be a part of my journey on pursuing my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre!

A little bit more about me, I am one of three children that my single Mother has been raising for the past 20 years. My older sister and my twin brother are also enrolled in college here in Charlotte, NC. My Mom helps all of us with anything that she can, but sometimes it just isn't enough. With that being said, I have been accepted and enrolled in school in NY and it is going to take a lot for me to be able to afford it. I worked hard in school and have earned some scholarship money to offset some of the cost, but unfortunately, it isn't enough for me to be able to attend. I have been working on getting a student loan however, since I am a student, I do not have the salary needed to get a loan. It feels like everywhere I turn there is another obstacle trying to hold me back. They say it takes a village, so I am hoping you might want to be a part of my village.

Performing, being on stage, and inspiring someone to love theatre as much as I do is why I can't give up hope on my future. Please consider, if you are able to donate, to help me be the best I can be and attain my degree. Being able to lessen this financial burden on not just myself, but also my family, would be a blessing.
