Help Kayla, Jeremiah, and Jemila Secure Housing
Donation protected
Kayla, Jeremiah, and their baby Jemila became unhoused last May when Jeremiah lost his job after leaving a shift early to take his daughter to the hospital during a medical emergency. Since then, they have been staying in motel rooms every night with money they are able to raise during the day because the family shelters are so full. Because of this, they have had no way to save money during this time.
Kayla and Jeremiah applied to the coordinated entry program in September, and they just heard that an apartment is available for them! However, they need to raise the money for the security deposit and rent. In order for them to have somewhere to stay at night in the meantime, they will have to continue to spend what money they have on overnight housing.
This GoFundMe is specifically aimed at raising funds for Kayla and Jeremiah's move-in costs. In order to secure their housing they need $750 ($400 for the security deposit, $350 for the first month's rent) for coordinated entry within the next week and a half. The rest of the funds, if raised, will be used to acquire furniture for their apartment, as well as to provide them will additional savings until they are more financially stable.
I have become friends with Kayla and Jeremiah over the past month and they are such loving parents and wonderful, kind people who deserve the best. Their abounding perserverance and joy are truly inspiring. Any help to secure this wonderful family their housing is so, so, so appreciated.
