Help Kayla Cross the Finish Line—Future Therapist in Action

Hi, my name is Kayla Burch, and I’m reaching out for support as I take the final step in my journey to becoming a fully licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

After years of hard work—balancing school, family, caregiving, and community service—I’ve officially earned my Associate Licensure (LAMFT) in the state of New Mexico. The last piece in this journey is taking the national licensing exam so I can begin providing full-time therapeutic services to individuals and families in need.

The exam fee is $400, and I also need to secure:

• Professional liability insurance – $100

• My AAMFT membership – $171

Together, these expenses total $671, which is my campaign goal.

I’ve poured my heart into this work, not only for myself but for my community—and especially for those who look like me and deserve therapists who understand their world. As a mother of four and the primary caregiver for my husband (who lives with multiple chronic conditions), this is more than a career—it’s a mission of healing and empowerment.
