Help Kayla Continue the Ministry of Ruby Meadows

As I sit down to write this, I take a deep breath and I say a prayer.
From a super young age, I've known what I was meant to do. Something about horses always drew me in, and healed me in ways I would only learn how to describe much later in life.
The thing about animals, is often they are better communicators of the Gospel than humans are: you are LOVED, simply because you're loved. No conditions. Only acceptance.
I understood God's love for me far better from the smell of hay and horse sweat than I did from a pulpit. And given that God gave me a sensitive heart for hurting people, it just made sense for me to try to convey that same love and acceptance I found around horses with other hurting people.
So, I dreamed. And for over a decade, worked towards that dream with a lot of blood, sweat and tears. Finally that dream became a reality and I opened Ruby Meadows Healing with Horses, located on my family's farm of which I am the fourth generation.
I got my first horse Paisley in 2017 and got certified in this work, which is mentoring guests in the context of therapeutic horsemanship. That's a fancy way of saying, I provide a safe space for people to process their pain in the context of horses, healthy relationship, and the power of the holy spirit. For the past three years, Ruby Meadows has served hundreds of guests. 2020 was the year things really took off, though!!
I don't feel it's right to share publicly the hardships our guests are facing. Let me assure you, though, they are gruesome, tragic, and would make your stomach turn. THESE PEOPLE NEED TO BE HERE. They LOVE coming to Ruby Meadows. This is where they are SAFE to process their trauma and experience love and healing. I DON'T DO THIS FOR ME.
My schedule is FULL with leading sessions. (Quick shout out to my amazing support group of consistent volunteers and other trained session leaders who help me immensely!) I'll say it loud for the people in the back: the farm does NOT support me!!! Or anybody else. I don't break even. I feed my animals out of my own pocket so I can share them with others. Everything up until this point has been donations-based. The GOAL is to have the farm support me, and SOON, so I can continue doing this work!! And not only continue with where things are, but LAUNCH into the next season God has readily prepared us for.
RUBY MEADOWS IS READY TO GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL. We are rolling out a website, getting incorporated, and ready to heavily market ourselves to not only continue serving the many guests we see weekly, but open our doors to a fuller capacity and bring on more staff. The world is full of hurting people. We are ready for more! But to get from where we are now to where we need to be takes a LOT of up-front cost. We're talking a couple thousand. $$$
The final reason for this Go-Fund-Me is to raise a few thousand to help cover vet expenses when we unexpectedly lost one of our amazing horses and ministry partners last week, Paisley. She was the first horse here and literally helped to build this program in ways that would take a book for me to explain. We miss her dearly. Her passing has created massive and unforeseen expenses.
Side-note. Last week, God had told me to take a week for fasting and praying for the direction of Ruby Meadows. Little did I know everything that would unfold last week. Yes, we lost a horse and with that comes great sorrow. But we saw the POWER OF GOD like crazy. None of this is a coincidence. God is saying loud and clear: YOU ARE READY FOR MY NEXT MOVE. STAY FAITHFUL TO THE MINISTRY. WATCH ME PROVIDE.
Guys I am giddy with excitement for all God is doing with this ministry. Like holy heck, if you only knew some of the stories!!! But for now, just DONATE!!!!!!!
