Help Kayla Beat MS
Donation protected
This past March, my family received devastating news about our baby, Kayla. She was taken to the hospital, barely able to move her left arm and leg. We all thought she had had a stroke and many tests were run, including CT scans, MRIs and a lumbar puncture. Eventually, the doctors diagnosed her with Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. RRMS is not hereditary, and until now, she was healthy. RRMS has no cure at this point and this is something we will have to learn to live with. Unfortunately, our energetic, intelligent, and loving girl was forced to be hospitalized for a few weeks following her diagnosis and is now undergoing outpatient physical and occupational therapy.
If you know Kayla, she is not one to be kept down. She's determined, giving, and, most of all, hardworking. She is giving everything she can to her physical and occupational therapy, relearning to walk her dog, brush her hair, and climb the stairs to her apartment again. However, our courageous girl continues to need support to do many of the things we all take for granted every day. She is a proud, independent young woman who is not one to ask for help, but as her mother, I know we have a long road ahead.
Kayla has missed more than a month of work due to her hospitalization and rehab stay and even now is not able to work full-time as she fits in her outpatient physical/occupational therapy sessions. Our family continues to support Kayla, but the bills are piling up. We aim to keep Kayla out of debt and help her get back on track following her RRMS diagnosis. We ask for your help and support for our baby. We appreciate everyone who has reached out, shared encouragement, and continues to pray for Kayla.
