Help Kayla and Jared Bring Baby Aria Home

Hello friends! I am raising funds on behalf of Kayla and Jared Moffett (my sister and brother-in-law). Life has not been fair to two of my most favorite people on this earth. They have been married for almost nine years, and for seven of those years, they have been trying to conceive. They started at the Utah Fertility Center with testing and rounds of IUI but had no luck. They then moved forward with IVF, which can be brutal physically, mentally, and emotionally. Not to mention the financial burden that comes with this route to parenthood. Still, they kept the goal of starting their family in mind.
When it came time, they did the retrieval procedure, and six embryos were created. The first time they did the transfer (or, implantation of the embryo), they used two embryos to increase the chance of a successful pregnancy. And the pregnancy test was positive! Unfortunately, they miscarried early on. They pushed through the heartache and completed three more transfers, receiving a negative pregnancy test each time.
After a time, miracles abounded, and they were able to do a second retrieval. First, they did a full scope of genetic testing to check if Kayla and Jared were carriers for anything. The retrieval was completed, and this time nine embryos were created. These nine, and the one left from the prior retrieval, were sent off for genetic testing and grading. Of those ten embryos, only three were deemed viable and returned.
With much hope (and anxiety), they proceeded with another transfer to implant one embryo. Less than two weeks later, they received a positive pregnancy test! Their sweet baby continued to grow; her heartbeat was strong, and she became quite the mover as she got bigger. Though they knew their baby was a girl, the time came for the anatomy scan. Kayla and Jared were excited to see their sweet baby girl again on the ultrasound!
During the ultrasound, it was discovered that she was low on amniotic fluid, and it was difficult to get a good look at everything. So, the doctor referred Kayla to a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist for further review. The news was not great. Their sweet baby girl had developed but had done so without kidneys and a bladder. More referrals were made, appointments scheduled, and tears shed in fear of what they would find out. After going to see a specialist at Primary Children's Hospital, then getting a special MRI at the University of Utah hospital, it was confirmed. There were no kidneys.
Family and friends prayed for a miracle, anything to help them keep the sweet baby they had waited years for. And slowly, those miracles have started to manifest in ways that no one expected. Finding out there is a specialist in Omaha, Nebraska, that will do saline infusions to help babies have enough amniotic fluid to grow and develop. A kind coworker who could work behind the scenes with local specialty hospitals to open the path to delivering their baby in Utah, as well as get the ball rolling for infant dialysis that would be necessary until she is big and healthy enough for a kidney transplant.
With all these miracles and blessings comes a hefty cost. The travel to Nebraska for saline infusions, delivering at a specialty hospital not in-network for insurance, the treatments and surgeries that will be needed for an unknown amount of time.
Kayla and Jared want to have their sweet girl more than anything in this world, and we as a family want that for them. Financial need is the biggest obstacle that will need to be overcome to make this dream come true for them. Please, find it in your heart to donate towards these large expenses coming their way and let them bring their sweet baby girl home.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts. We truly cannot do this without you.
