If you know Kayla, you know that Gus isn’t just a pet—he’s her best friend and emotional support animal. After a long, demanding day working in corrections, Gus is always there to provide comfort and support. He truly means the world to her.

Unfortunately, last week, Gus found his way into something and ended up in the hospital requiring emergency surgery to remove a foreign object from his intestines. The initial procedure came with a hefty bill of $8,500. Sadly, Gus experienced complications in the following days, which led to another emergency visit and ultimately a second surgery. This new procedure will cost an additional $6,500, with more expenses expected during his recovery.

These medical bills are entirely out of pocket for Kayla, and the financial burden is overwhelming. We’re reaching out to friends, family, and anyone who can help to ease this burden and ensure Gus gets the care he desperately needs.
