Help Kayla Abernathy Survive & Recover
Donation protected

This is an absolute life or death matter and we are calling on all friends and family to support her, as she has dedicated her life to supporting others. As of 10/7/20, Kayla has been accepted to Shepherd Center in Atlanta, GA. If you don't already know about this institution, it is a renowned facility, offering top-quality neuro rehabilitation for its patients. Before the transfer takes place, her family needs to secure funds immediately for: 1.) Attorney fees to give her mom temporary conservatorship over Kayla 2.) Transfer costs for Kayla to Shepherd Center 3.) Support for her one allowed visitor (her mom) while there for 4 weeks, and, eventually, 4.) Her stay there for rehabilitation after the initial 4 weeks (Lord willing). They have a long journey ahead for recovery, and we want to make sure that finances are not a factor slowing them down or preventing them from being able to make the best choices for Kayla.
Kayla is a selfless mother, daughter, sister, friend and nurse. She's given the same level of utmost compassion for every patient, regardless of who they are. She deserves the same compassion now. Many are asking what you can do to help and, along with your continued prayers, this is the most important way we can change her trajectory. Please help Kayla receive the best care possible and help a 3-year-old keep her mother and help Kayla's parents keep their only daughter. Kayla can't speak but is fighting with every fiber of her being to stay alive and needs her support system to speak for her. Each and every person who donates will be thanked so please don't donate anonymously: you are heroes, so show it. I will also be posting updates on Kayla's condition as we receive them, so please check back after donating. This is a difficult year, but you can tangibly help make one family's year less difficult by allowing them to give their loved one the best chance of survival.
Note: we've set up the GoFundMe for ongoing withdrawals to Kayla's account, as her mom is also on that account.
