Help Kaye to have life-saving surgery
Donation protected
Hello.
My name is Line Paras and I am fundraising for my dear friend and valued employee, Kaye Barte, to have life-saving hysterectomy surgery.
Kaye is 30 years old and has 3 daughters, aged 7, 6 and 1. Kaye and her family live in a remote area in Mindanao in the Philippines.
Kaye has been working in my business as a bookkeeper since early 2020.
Late last year, Kaye had some polyps removed from her uterus, and a few weeks ago she was told that they were cancerous.
Kaye's mother and maternal grandmother both died from uterine cancer.
This cancer is treatable by having a full hysterectomy, as it is thought it may be in its early stages.
Philhealth, a government-owned company, oversees public healthcare in the Philippines. Although Philhealth covers some medical treatments and expenses, such as inpatient care and non-emergency procedures, it does not cover all medical treatments and costs and will not cover this procedure.
Kaye has applied to the social services in her area for sponsorship for the operation. Unfortunately, this has not been granted, because they covered the polyp removal late last year, so they will not cover the hysterectomy surgery. Kaye has also appealed to her local Council and the Mayor for help, to no avail.
Kaye does not have anyone to help her financially and, at this stage, her only option is to not have the surgery. This would put her at risk of the cancer growing and spreading.
I am hoping to raise $5000 to give to Kaye to help her pay to have this life-saving procedure as soon as possible.
Please help.
