Help Kaye Miller with Cancer Medical Expenses

Hi my name is Mathyn Miller and I am creating this fundraiser for my mom Kaye Miller. My mom is a native of Statesboro, Ga and has a love and passion for dance. She grew up dancing and performing throughout South Georgia. She was the owner of Kaye Miller School of Dance in Millen and Waynesboro where she instructed award winning dance teams for over 35 years. She has also choreographed many local musicals and has been involved and contributed in the arts community here in Statesboro for many years. She has also been the co director of my dance studio Technique Dance Company and dance teacher of the Tiny Movers and Petite Pizazz classes.

My mom was diagnosed with cancer specifically neuroendocrine carcinoma back in June. There was a large cancerous mass found in her colon almost completely blocking it and she had to have surgery to remove the tumor, over half of her colon, and multiple lymph nodes. Her cancer is more on the aggressive side and ended up moving to her liver and was then staged as a stage 4 cancer, so she started chemotherapy a month after the surgery. She went through 4 rounds of chemo and found out that the cancer did not respond to the first 4 rounds at all and had spread even further into the bones, specifically in her back in her spine as well as some in her leg. Her doctor now has her going through 10 rounds of a different chemo drug as well as oral chemo drugs at the same time to try to slow down the growth and movement of the cancer and to get it to respond on attacking these aggressive cells. She will get another PET scan in January to see if these new drugs are working. Testing is also being done on her mass that was removed from her colon to see if she is a candidate for immunotherapy as well. This new round of chemo is taking a toll as it does on anyone with cancer and the medical expenses are enormous. My dad and I along with her doctors are hopeful we can find the chemo drug that will stop the spread of this awful and rare cancer. I want to be able to help my parents by raising money to help take some of the burden of these medical expenses off of them. My mom loves dance and her students with her whole heart and I want her to be able to get this cancer into remission so she can get back into the dance studio doing what she loves.
