Kayden went into surgery today to have a Spinal Fusion to correct a 60 degree curve that appeared within the past year. Due to the rapid development, he was given a time-line of several months before the curve got significantly worse, and the decision was made to go forward with the surgery to avoid further damage and a difficult life leading to complications such as degenerative disc disease and and potentially being wheelchair bound.

Mom was notified of the post-insurance pocket surgery costs to be around $10,000, and additional accommodations and lifestyle changes to ensure his at home comfort throughout recovery.
