I’m reaching out with love ❤️ and hope for my amazing son, Kayden. He’s one of the kindest, most compassionate souls you could ever meet, with a heart of gold that’s always ready to help others. But now, he needs our help. From a young age, he’s known who he truly is, yet the journey to align his body with his true self has been filled with many struggles. The pain of gender dysphoria has deeply affected his mental health, and my heart aches seeing how it’s impacted his well-being.

Gender-affirming care is so vital, but it looks different for each person. For my son, top surgery is the key to unlocking his true self. This surgery will give him the freedom to finally feel at home in his body—something so many of us take for granted. It will allow him to live with confidence, comfort, and peace, something he deserves more than anything.

The total cost of the surgery is approximately $20,000, and while Kayden has managed to save $1,500 so far, he still needs $18,500 to make this life-changing procedure a reality. Despite trying so hard to work, save, and be a part of society, binding his chest has severely impacted his health, both physically and mentally. The toll it has taken has forced him to step back from work. His well-being has become a priority, and right now, he’s focused on healing and focusing on his mental health.

As a single mum with two jobs, I’m doing my best to keep our heads above water financially. But the cost of this surgery is more than I can manage on my own. I am doing everything I can to support him, but I need your help to make this dream a reality for him.

Unfortunately, Kayden’s father has not been accepting of him as his true self and has chosen to cease contact. This rejection has had a profound impact on Kayden’s mental health , leaving him feeling isolated, unloved, and as if there is something wrong with who he is. The emotional toll of this rejection only adds to the struggles he’s already facing, and it breaks my heart to see him carry that weight. As his mum, I find it so hard to understand how any parent could do such a thing—especially when made aware of the immense impact it has had on their child—and yet show no concern at all.

I love ❤️ my son unconditionally and will advocate for him for as long as I live because he deserves a happy, fulfilling life surrounded by people who love and care for him. He deserves to feel safe and supported, and I will stand by him every step of the way

On top of all of this, my son has Autism (ASD2), which has made life even more challenging for him. Yet he’s always given his best and worked hard to overcome these struggles. But now, his health requires him to step back and focus on what’s most important. I’m right here beside him, supporting him through it all.

This surgery will give him the confidence and peace he’s been longing for—allowing him to live freely, wear the clothes he wants without fear, and feel whole in his own skin. My son should not have to live in fear of being misgendered, bullied, or hiding who he is. This is his chance to finally live authentically, and I believe he deserves that more than anything.
