Hi, my name is Kelly and I'm a Stuytown mom. Our beloved friend and local nanny Kaycee, suffered a huge loss of ALL of her belongings in the Friday floods in Brooklyn as a result of Hurricane Ophelia. Kaycee just moved into this apartment 2 months ago and was excited to make it her home. Unfortunately over a foot of water flooded her apartment in a very short time and her entire bedroom was submerged in over a foot of sewage runoff water. Nothing in her bedroom apart from a few pieces of clothing can be salvaged. This happened so fast she was not able to rescue anything, especially large items. She has no bed to sleep on and is relying on the kindness of her roommates and friends. The pictures below show the devastation of her apartment. Kaycee has renters insurance but it does not cover floods, and we all know that landlords are not always quick to act in good faith during times like this.
We know Kaycee would appreciate any amount you may be able to contribute to help get back on her feet. Your contributions will go towards replacing her belongings and if necessary, getting her apartment professionally cleaned and disinfected, as well as alternative accommodation while her apartment is being restored. Thank you so much, your generosity in this community is so greatly appreciated.
